OUR MISSION

The Parenting Place is a community-based, non-profit organization whose mission is the prevention of child abuse and neglect through strengthening families since 1981.

OUR GOALS

To help families develop healthy parent-child relationships, to improve the futures of our children and ensure healthy families in our community.

 What We Offer

We provide services to strengthen families across Montana 

At The Parenting Place, we believe strong families build strong communities. That’s why we offer a range of services designed to meet caregivers where they are—whether at home, in the community, or within the justice system. Our programs support families across Montana with:
 

  • Evidence-based parenting classes that create space for connection, learning, and growth

  • Trauma-informed training to help individuals and organizations avoid re-traumatization

  • Support for incarcerated caregivers with tools to strengthen parenting and life skills

  • Education on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and their long-term impact

  • Flexible home visiting services to provide one-on-one guidance and build parental resilience

Our 12-week, evidence-based Nurturing Parenting Program offers caregivers a supportive, non-judgmental space to connect and grow together.

Each class is designed to meet families where they are and provide practical tools for building stronger, healthier relationships. Learn More

Trauma 101 Button_5x.png

In a half-day presentation  participants will learn how to avoid re-traumatization regardless of their role in the family, at the workplace, and in their communities.  

Parent Aide Button_5x.png

Parent Aide is a voluntary home visiting program that is here to help provide intensive support, information, and effective parenting tips.  Our in-home visits are flexible and can be 1-2 hours, 1-2 times a week, or what works for you.  We are here to help you focus on parental resilience & knowledge, social connections, and the safety of children.

Learning about the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study is a great training for anyone who is interested  about the effects of childhood trauma.

Caregiver education opportunities provided in the Missoula Pre-Release Center and the Missoula County Detention Facility to learn more about parenting strategies and life skill sets.
